23rd September: 1st Volunteer Day of the New Season

Posted by

The 2017/18 season kicked off in fabulous and thrilling style with Club beating Plymouth Albion 32-31 with the last kick of the match. And Well Hall looked splendid in the sunshine, thanks to the huge amount of work that was done by the army of volunteers throughout the summer.

There is still more to do, though, and we will be organising regular sessions throughout the season to help keep on top of everything. IMG_7683

We have spoken with Albert and Tim B, and have a list of things that need doing (painting more crowd control barriers; getting the bleachers finished; trimming trees around the ‘next match’ sign; weeding around the edge of the pitches, by the clubhouse and under the bleachers; putting anti-slip paint on the steps – may be a good one for me to do!!; etc, etc) so if you can spare any time on Saturday 23 September, from 10am to 1pm, and are happy to come to Well Hall to help for all or part of that time, please reply to this email (supportersclub@blackheathrugby.co.uk). We’ll provide the equipment, just come dressed appropriately for painting, gardening, or general tidying/cleaning. We have a wet weather plan too, so don’t be put off if it’s raining.

The bar will be open, and the Bandits will be playing (3pm KO), so feel free to hang around afterwards to cheer them on.

Thank you in advance for any time you can spare: you really do make a difference!
