With the Deaf Rugby Test Series, which began at Well Hall on the 4th November, already over the Club would like to congratulate both England and New Zealand for a fantastic series and England on their 3-0 win. We were proud to see our pitch being used for representative rugby and proud of the way the Club embraced the occasion, with so many people turning out to watch the match.
We were delighted this morning to receive an email from one of the architects of the series, Tony Stoyles, who is Chair of both England Deaf Rugby and New Zealand Deaf Rugby.
“I would like to thank you for your faultless hosting of our International fixture for the Test Series against New Zealand, it was hugely successful and we enjoyed our stay at your club, you should all be very proud of your achievements.
Your fellow members made us all feel welcome and we will consider your venue for any future Internationals, or even any community events we may embark on.
Not only was the game a success, and I am sure you will know by now, but a Test Series win of 3-0 result, is a massive achievement for England Deaf Rugby some of the lads are still feeling the achievement today, especially when our story on Instagram has been listed a top ten hit of all previous RFU’s stories…
Yours in Rugby !
Chairman ~ England Deaf Rugby Union”
So a huge thank you from the Club to all our Members and Supporters to helped make it a success. If you want to relive the occasion you can see Helen’s photos of the match on her photo album on the Club Facebook page
