Jim Skinner retired in August 2015 after 13 very successful years as Headteacher of Beths Grammar School in Bexley. As well as becoming our Education Advisor he has taken on the part time role as CEO of the Grammar School Heads Association (GSHA).
During his time at Beths Grammar, the school achieved two Outstanding Ofsteds. Linked to this he was for 7 years a National Leader of Education and in this capacity provided support to other schools and advice to the Department for Education (DfE). As CEO of GSHA he will continue this close work with the DfE as well as examination boards and other groups involved in educational policy development.
Jim has been involved in School and Club sport for 35 years. Aged just 28 he became the Chairman of the City of Plymouth Athletic Club, a post he held until returning to London in 1991. Education beyond the classroom played a big part in Beths’ success. School sport has been central to this and Jim was a regular attendee on the touchline, especially for rugby.
I would like you to join me in welcoming Jim to Blackheath FC as our Education Advisor to the Blackheath Academy.
