Suspension of All Rugby until 14th April Due to COVID-19
As Members and Supporters are no doubt aware by now, the RFU has suspended all rugby activity in England, at every level, including club training, league and cup matches plus rugby education courses from 17 March until 14 April subject to continued review.
The decision has been taken in the interests of players, coaches, referees, volunteers, supporters and the wider rugby union community.
Of immediate impact to Blackheath Rugby, there is to be no training or matches by any team or section starting immediately and this weekend’s 1st XV National League One match, and associated pre match lunch are postponed. This suspension continues until after our last home game on 4th April. Those who have booked for the lunches will be contacted directly.
We will provide further updates according to Government and the RFU guidelines in the coming weeks, particular as the impacts upon all teams’ seasons becomes clearer.
Where possible, players at all levels are encouraged to maintain their own personal fitness and keep active during this time, while following government guidelines about safe distance and safe exercise environments.
