About Well Hall
Prior to 2016 season Blackheath Rugby had been playing 2nd team, social and youth rugby at Well Hall in Eltham for almost 10 years and, at the beginning of the 2016/17 season, the 1st XV rugby relocated too. With upgraded facilities and a full season playing National League rugby at Well Hall, the team has settled in very well.
Well Hall boasts a seated stand, terracing around much of the pitch, and several bars to welcome you in. The main supporters‘ bar (the ‘Greene King Bar‘) was built for 1st XV matches and has quickly become the focal point of post-match celebrations.
The average 1st XV crowd was almost 700 last year and this will continue to grow as more people discover Club at Well Hall.
The Club shop, stocking playing, replica and leisure wear, is run by volunteers. It is open from 2pm – 5pm on match days and is also open on Sunday mornings when the Mini/Junior rugby is played.
Saturday matches kick off at 3pm, unless otherwise publicised, and the gate and bar both open at midday. The full address is: Blackheath Rugby, Club at Well Hall, Kidbrooke Lane, London SE9 6TE.
Whilst guide / assistance dogs are of course welcomed, we cannot accommodate any other dogs on site.

The Greene King Bar
Just behind the stand, and almost on pitchside, the Greene King Bar is the main focus of most people’s pre- and post-match enjoyment and it plays host to the entertaining Man of the Match award at 6.00pm. Open from midday on match days, come on in and join the fun!
Club Bar and President’s Guests
There is ample bar capacity at Well Hall for everyone, however the Club Bar (upstairs in the Clubhouse, nearest the car park) is reserved pre-match for President’s guests, Friends of the Club, Sponsors and Opposition Committee personnel. Entry is restricted as there is limited space in the Club Bar, and the modest buffet has been paid for by Sponsors and Friends.
This restriction does not apply post-match
Unless the Hall is in use for a pre-match lunch or event, its bar and the kitchen are open to everyone, pre- and post-match.
Our excellent Club Caterers provide all the pre-match lunches and serve food from the hatch in the Hall upstairs. For some matches a hog roast is put on and there is often ‘Curry Corner’ post-match in the Greene King Bar. A full burger bar is being built between the two stands and will be operational very soon – watch this space!
Pre-match lunches, served by Club Caterers Lisa and Lynsey, are served in the upstairs hall. Details of lunches and other events will be published here as soon as they are announced

Travelling by Car
Well Hall has excellent public transport links, and it is advisable, where possible, to use local buses and trains (click here to plan your journey). However, if you are visiting by car, there are good road links from both the A205 South Circular, which serves much of South London, and the A2, which gives easy access to North London via the Blackwell Tunnel, Charlton and Blackheath, as well as from Kent. It is also less than a mile from the A20.
If you do travel by car, please help Club to be a considerate neighbour: by using the onsite car park rather than leaving cars in nearby streets, disturbance to the local community is kept at a minimum.
The car park has capacity for over 100 cars (available on a first come, first served basis) at a charge of £3.

Please make sure you present your card for both free entry to the ground and for membership discount at the bar, and don’t be offended if you are asked for it! Hundreds of members, ranging from players and supporters to the youth section, pass through the gates and order drinks, and it is impossible for those working at the ticket hut or behind the bar to remember everyone. Thank you for your understanding.
