After 4 and 3 years respectively at Blackheath Rugby Academy the time has come for Simon and Aston to move away.

“It’s been a fantastic experience for both of us to undertake and we have made some great friends along the way but more importantly we have had the opportunity to shape and change young people’s lives under the umbrella of rugby.

We would like to thank the CLUB for the opportunity initially and for their tremendous support as we both transitioned away from professional Rugby into our coaching roles within the Blackheath Rugby Academy.

The programme has developed year on year and we both firmly believe that the Blackheath Rugby Academy is in a very strong position moving forward into the future.

We would both like to say thank you to all of the backroom staff at Well Hall who make the day to day running of the Academy such a great place for the students. Collectively we have won some great Rugby matches over the years and we are both convinced that this will continue.

We would also like to thank the students and their parents that have helped, supported and the sacrifices made for their sons to be a part of the Blackheath Rugby Academy.

Finally thanks to Russell Ticehurst our Chairman for his continued support in driving both Blackheath Rugby Academy and Blackheath Rugby club forward.

We both look forward to being able to come back and enjoy some Wednesday and Saturday fixtures next season.”

On behalf of all of us we wish both the boys well for their future, they have done a great job together with the Club to put the Blackheath Rugby Academy in exactly the right the place for even more success in the future.”

The Club is delighted to inform everyone that Larry Measures has agreed to accept the role of Academy Manager. In this role Larry will ensure that the Academy wants for nothing and is organised to the highest levels.

We can also confirm that we will soon be appointing a tutor in readiness for next season.

And lastly we are finalising our coaching team for the start of next season and are currently in discussion with RFU Level 3 coaches, current Championship and National 1 players who are all keen to carry on the excellent coaching work at Blackheath Rugby Academy.
