Reports and photos from U9 and U7 on their recent experience at the Eton Manor Festival held last Sunday (7th April).
Blackheath Under 9s brought an impressive display of fluid, running rugby to Eton Manor’s corner of Wanstead last Sunday.
With two squads attending, praise was forthcoming not only from our own Mums & Dads, but from neutrals and opposition alike – with 2 out of the 3 opposition coaches magnanimously acknowledging Club’s superior passing game.

Blackheath U7 took three teams to Eton Manor’s Festival on Sunday without any substitutes. The guys knew we couldn’t have any injuries!!
Our boys played some amazing tag rugby – often at speed, rushing the opposition in to mistakes, turning over ball, diving for tags in defence, then in attack making breaks, supporting the player with the ball and scoring a bucket load of tries.
On many occasions we saw the ball going though hands 3 or 4 times before a try was scored.
The most pleasing sight though was the huge smiles on the boys faces – they were enjoying themselves, we suspect because they all knew they had won every match (but who’s counting!).
Another good festival had by all. Come and watch our “curtain raiser” on Saturday before the 1st XV take on Rotherham
