Tomorrow Blackheath welcome near neighbours, and National League One leaders, Rosslyn Park to Well Hall. Kick-off is at 3 pm.
Park are in a great run of form that has seen them defeated just once in their last ten outings.
They lead the table by virtue of their draw at Chinnor in November over Rams who also have 64 points. Skipper and number-eight Hugo Ellis is Park’s leading try scorer on eleven, and fly- half Craig Holland has racked up 119 points.
Richmond, who Blackheath denied a bonus point in their 19-8 defeat at The Athletic Ground last Saturday, sit one point behind, and complete the top three who are now well clear of the chasing pack.
Tomorrow’s match is, therefore, of huge importance to both clubs and, in Blackheath’s case, vital if they are to have any chance of reeling themselves back in to contention, and they can take inspiration from the sides’ previous encounter at The Rock in September.
With the scores level at 14-14, and two tries apiece, at the break, Blackheath produced some of their best rugby of the season to date, scoring two further tries, and securing a 29-14 victory.
James Shanahan makes some key changes to the starting line-up for tomorrow with James Catt coming in to the second-row allowing Tom Stradwick to move to his more favoured blind-side.
Stef Liebenberg is free to return at scrum-half, while Leo Fielding starts at full-back with Ben Ransom moving to the wing. Henry Staff gets the nod at outside-centre, and Freddie Owen is included on the bench.
Blackheath team to play Rosslyn Park. Kick-off is at 3 pm.
