Blackheath Rugby would like to welcome William Jameson, Dylan Coetzee, Teddy Gibbons.
Coming from Cardiff RFC and Pontypridd RFC, Will is keen to get started and says “I’m really excited to be joining Blackheath, not only because it’s a club with a rich and historic background, but also because, after speaking with Strads, it’s clear there’s a real drive within the group to push for success — something that aligns with my own ambitions — in what is a very competitive National 1 league this year. That ambition and direction really attracted me to the club, along with what appears to be a great group of lads both on and off the pitch. It feels like a great time”. Tom Stradwick, Head Coach at Blackheath Rugby, says “William is an exceptionally hard working player. He can play anywhere across the back row as well as covering second row if needed. A player of his versatility will undoubtably be a real asset to us this season.”.
Dylan, who’s previous club was Hartpury, says he can’t wait to join “I’m really excited to be joining Blackheath as I take the next step in my rugby career after four great years at Hartpury, finishing with an incredible BUCS Super Rugby title. My time there helped me grow massively on and off the field, and I’m now looking forward to the challenge of National 1. It’s a great chance to keep developing in men’s rugby and be part of such a historic and ambitious club. I can’t wait to get started and contribute wherever I can.” Tom is equally enthusiastic “Dylan is a winger with excellent footwork. He can also cover scrum half as well and in space he will cause defence problems.”
Telling us about Teddy, who joins us from Sidcup RFC, Tom says “Teddy is an up and coming tighthead that we have big hopes for in the future. This season he will be coming up against bigger more physical props and developing his set piece skills. We are very excited to see what this season and beyond holds for Teddy!”. Teddy can’t wait to join Blackheath, and says “I’m really looking forward to being part of a new setup at Blackheath. Training and potentially playing with National league players is exciting and there’s no place better to really push me to my limit. Can’t wait to get started!”.
On the new signings, Russell Ticehurst, Managing Director, says “We welcome Will, Teddy and Dylan to Blackheath for the start of our 25/26 season. With more experience and pace joining we are starting to really build some genuine quality in strength and depth. All of these players will get their chance to prove their worth versus Bedford, Richmond and Canterbury, which means that these pre season matches will take on real significance this year as we look to see what our new signings will bring to the squad. As ever in National 1 it will be competitive and opportunities will surely present themselves”.
