This weekend, we received the very sad news about the death of former Club member, Phil Hogsett.
“Phil passed suddenly at home late on Monday evening in his home town of Carrickfegus, Northern Island.
He always spoke with great fondness of his time at Blackheath and I know this sad news will come as a shock to all at the club that knew him.
Phil was always at the centre of the action both on and off the pitch. On the pitch he was distinctive, not just by his bald head and lack of teeth, but by his ever faithful Black and Yellow ankle high Adidas Flanker rugby boots !! Off the field he would be in the centre of the action with a pint of the black stuff in his hand and singing a song or ten !!
He was a hard player, but he had the skill to back it up. An outstanding NO7 !
He was a truly wonderful character who will be missed by all.”
All at Club wish Phil’s family our deepest condolences.
