Message from the Executive Committee, Blackheath Rugby
We were delighted with the result last Saturday and, although it was unfortunate to see Clifton relegated from the National One League, it was terrific to complete the league season with another win and secure second place in the league table. The win means that we will now have a home fixture against Plymouth Albion on Saturday 9th May, at 3pm at The Utilita.
Under the rules of the league and to compensate the away team for their match and travel costs, we are obliged to share the greater of 50% of the gate entry income or pay for the travel costs of Plymouth Albion.
This match was not scheduled for us at the time of preparing our financial budgets, and it is important that we balance our income and costs. In order to comply with the league rules, and also to cover our own costs to stage the match, there will be an entry fee charge of £10 for all categories of Blackheath members for this match. For non-members the cost of entry will be £15, and children under the age of 18 will enter free. The normal member discount at the bar will, of course, apply.
Tickets can be purchased online (https://blackheathrugby.ticketco.events/uk/en/e/blackheath_v_plymouth_albion__national_one_play_off)
We are also going to host a pre-match lunch in the hall. If you would like to reserve a table or a place at the lunch, please contact Jeff Barnes as quickly as possible (lunches@blackheathrugby.co.uk).
Saturday 9th May will be a very big day for Blackheath Rugby and we hope that as many members and supporters as possible will be able to attend the match and get behind the team.
If we are successful and beat Plymouth Albion, we will then compete for a place in The Champ League on Saturday 23rd May. There is still a lot to play for this season and we look forward to seeing you at The Utilita on 9th May!!
