We’re delighted to welcome Mikel Davies to the club! Mikel’s previous club was Westcombe Park, but some of you may recognise the name as his first ever club was Blackheath, where he went through the age groups.
Telling us about Mikel, Blackheath Rugby’s Head Coach Tom Stradwick says “Mikel Davies joins us as a sharp, intelligent scrum half who controls the tempo of the game well. His decision-making and delivery will be crucial in ensuring our speed of ball in attack. We’re really pleased to have him on board for the upcoming season.” Mikel is looking forward to rejoining Blackheath, and says “I’m super excited to be returning to the club where I played from U6s through to U15s. Blackheath is such a prestigious club with an incredible following, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together this season.”
On the new signing, Russell Ticehurst, Managing Director, says “Mikel joins us from Westcombe Park and is familiar to many of us following his successes with Kent Rugby over recent years. He’s been a standout scrum half for Westcombe Park for some time and he is no doubt looking forward to training and learning alongside Jordan Burns and Kyle McGhie. He’s had another good season and we all hope he brings that form with him to Blackheath.”
