As we come in to September, a reminder that all league fixtures across the Community game (adult and youth) have been postponed following an RFU decision made after consultation with clubs nationwide.

The RFU has confirmed that no competitive youth games, nor matches in the men’s leagues from Regional 1 and below, or in the women’s leagues below Premiership Women’s Rugby level, will take place before Monday 21 September 2026. This means our Juniors, Women’s, Brigands and Bandits are continuing to train and are rearranging their games to comply with these regulations.

The Brigands game against Kings College Hospital will take place on the 4G pitch on 5 September.

The decision has been taken due to prolonged dry weather that has left pitches across England hard and unsuitable for safe full‑contact rugby. Hard ground conditions significantly increase the risk of injury, particularly at the start of the season when players return to full contact.

Blackheath Rugby supports the RFU’s focus on player welfare and safety. Revised fixture dates will be shared as soon as they are confirmed.
