Blackheath Rugby is delighted to announce the signing of Archie English, who joins us from Hartpury University having played wing, full back and both centres there, and now plays in the back three.
Archie started playing rugby at Deal & Betteshanger RFC, going up through the age groups. He played for East Kent district when he was 13-14 and then was a part of the Kent squad up until seniors, playing last year at the age of 19.
“Archie is a very promising player, who is now back from Hartpury University,” says James Shanahan, Head Coach. “Tom Stradwick first put me in touch with him while playing for Kent. He played a few Club XV games last season and we’re really happy to see him back full time in Kent.“
Archie is also happy to be signing for Blackheath Rugby: “I started playing rugby for Deal and Betteshanger and was lucky enough to be selected for Kent youth. I’ve sharpened my tools playing at Hartpury University and now I’ve got the chance to showcase them for this iconic club.”
