Blackheath Rugby is thrilled to announce the signing of Augustin Slowik, a fullback who has played for Bristol Bears, Worcester Warriors, Jersey Reds, Stade Niçois and AS Monaco.
James Shanahan, Director of Rugby, says “I first came across Auguy when he was at Bristol Bears — electric pace and can create something from nothing. Experienced and intelligent player who will adds huge amounts to the backline and I’m really looking forward to seeing him in a club shirt this season.”
Russell Ticehurst, Managing Director, goes on to say “We are very excited to welcome Augustin Slowik to Blackheath for 2024/25. Auguy brings with him plenty of rugby experience from the Premiership, the Championship and most recently from France. We are hoping his experience will help galvanise our back line and inject some genuine pace into our attack. Another great addition to the club, and someone that shares the club’s values on and off the pitch. We look forward to see him run out at the Utilita in the coming season.”
Speaking about his recent signing, Augustin says “I’m looking forward to moving to Blackheath as a club and area. I believe it’s is the right club to fully start the transition away from pro rugby. The attacking brand the team plays very much suits my style of rugby! And the ambitions of the club match my own, making the opportunity incredibly exciting. I’m hoping to use my leadership and experience to help the club fulfil its ambition.”
