The Club were very pleased to see Blackheath Women 1st XV play their first match of the new season back at Rectory Field on Sunday: Rectory Field was where Blackheath Women’s rugby began over 30 years ago.
The team contained a lot of new faces and took some time to gel, but played some high quality and very entertaining rugby.
Beyond the Men’s 1st XV and Club XV we are lucky to have a thriving Community section at the Club: as well as the Women’s team, the Bandits (Men’s social side) play at The Utilita on Saturdays, and our Minis and Junior boys and girls use The Utilita, Hervey Road and Rectory Field on Sundays.
The Women’s XV are a thriving section who welcome new recruits to Tuesday and Thursday training at Rectory Field SE7 7EY from 7.30 p.m. They play in the Championship II league. Their next game at Rectory Field will be on the 5 November versus Battersea Ironsides.
