Our U16s took to the field to play their first ever Kent league match against Sidcup at Well Hall on Sunday. The BlackDarts are continuing to progress as a team as they begin their competitive journey in an ever expanding landscape.
Summer wasn’t quite done as the sun broke though the clouds come kick off making it a tough encounter. The water girl was earning her stripes! BlackDarts started well, scoring two tries in quick succession before Sidcup responded. One more for BlackDarts before the break, but due to a lull in play caused by an injury Sidcup caught BD sleeping, managing to get two more to make it 15-15 at half time.
Come the second half, the BlackDarts began playing some excellent free flowing rugby. Their support play led to some incredible offloads generating more scores. The scrum began to find it’s feet also, pushing Sidcup off the ball. The gap began to widen but Sidcup to their credit did not give up. The spirited opposition took two more tries but by then BlackDarts had sealed their victory with a 44 – 25 win.
Our thanks to Jon Saunders who refereed the game.
