Frustration for Blackheath on Saturday, as their latest National League Two East match at Bury St Edmunds was called off just 30 minutes before its scheduled kick off time of 3 pm.
With a succession of night-time temperatures below freezing, the Club had raised concerns in the days ahead of the game about the condition of the Haberden playing surface, but a 9.30 am inspection on the day suggested the pitch would be fit for play by the afternoon.
However, Blackheath arrived in Suffolk to find areas of the surface still frozen and, despite the best efforts of the ground staff, it was agreed with the match officials at 2.30 pm that, due to player safety concerns, the game should be postponed.
The match will now be played on 18th March, while this Saturday the Club will resume their campaign when they host Old Albanian. Kick off at Well Hall is at 3 pm.
