At Hervey Road there was a small area at the back of the all-weather court that has been left to its own devices over the years. We spoke to Greenwich to get their approval to turn this into a little wildlife area and they put us in touch with Stuart Smith at Blakeney Leigh Surveyors who work with the Greenwich Build and they immediately jumped at the chance to support the local community and work with us to create a forest school. Last week a team of volunteers from Elkins Construction and Blakeney Leigh came to Hervey Road and created this wonderful new space for the local community and schools. Bug hotels, bat and bird boxes and hedgehog houses have been installed along with a log pathway, insect friendly shrubs and wildflowers will be sown in the spring.
