Jerry Map

06 Aug 2021

We are sad to convey the news that former Club member, Jerry Mapp died in May after a long illness.
Steve Stuckey writes: I knew Jerry from Essex and Eastern Counties schools/ Colts in the late 70’s. He initially played for Chingford before joining Club around 1980. Jerry was a big, strong running wing before reinventing himself as a back row and was great mates with the late Jack Montgomery.
After joining the police, Jerry, left the club to play for the Met. and also played for Richmond and Surrey. After that he was enticed by the likes of Colin Fenn and Dave Wright to play a few games for East London.
Jerry was always cheerful and smiling, even after he was told that his illness was terminal. A great bloke.
