Maul Together’ to raise funds together

Before putting on his Club rugby boots in September, Ed Taylor will be donning his cleats in July and cycling 958 miles from John O’Groats to Land’s End, as part of a team effort to raise money for two very special causes, under the charitable organisation ‘Maul Together’ (www.maultogether.co.uk).

The thinking behind Maul Together is simple: “As we all know, the game of rugby provides a huge family and network of support to help players through many of life’s challenges. Unfortunately, not everyone is lucky enough to have this support network and it is our passion to help offer this to those that need it most.”

Maul Together has linked up with two fantastic charities which are both hugely committed to helping the individuals suffering from life changing injuries and illness:

  • The Matt Hampson Foundation inspires and supports young people seriously injured through sport. Through expert physiotherapy, specialist personal training, support, mentoring and advice, the Foundation helps people with life-changing injuries to get busy living again.
  • Founded by Doddie Weir, OBE, the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation invests in research to find meaningful treatments and work towards finding a cure for motor neuron disease. It supports people with MND and their families, to help them live as fulfilled a life as possible.

Ed will be keeping us all up to date on his 9 days of cycling, via the Club Social Media pages, and, in the meantime, you can see him chatting about the challenge on our YouTube channel.

If you would like to help Ed and his Maul Together team mates, please go to their Virgin Money Giving page to donate https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/MaulTogether – any amount will be hugely appreciated.
