Congratulations to Markus Burcham and Tom Stradwick who received caps for playing 200 games for Blackheath Rugby today. In fact, they’ve played 435 matches between them, with Burch on 234 and Strads on 201. Phenomenal.
Tom’s first match for The Club was on 3 Dec 2011, against Birmingham & Solihull, and only a matter of weeks later Markus started his Blackheath career in a game against Stourbridge on 21 Jan 2012 (coincidentally, in the game that Simon Legg celebrated his bicentenary), and his 200th game was just before lockdown, 8 years later.
It’s wonderful to be able to celebrate this amazing achievement with these two giants of Blackheath Rugby – many congratulations to them both (archive photos courtesy of Helen Watson).
