A 13-point lead just prior to the interval proved too little for Blackheath, as Park turned up the gas to dominate a majority of the second half to maintain their 100% start to the new National League One season.
Blackheath had much the better of the opening period, but from the re-start found themselves under pressure and unable to find an effective exit from their own territory for most of the next half-hour.
Ed Dunford had Blackheath on the scoreboard after just two minutes as the Club full-back struck a penalty for off-side.
A wayward lineout throw thwarted a golden opportunity for the hosts mid-half, but presented with another chance moments later, the Club capitalised with a powerful drive for Billy Harding to crash over, the skipper’s seventh try in four games.
Dunford added the conversion and a second penalty but, perhaps crucially as it would turn out, Park managed their first period of sustained pressure as the break approached and with number-eight Jack Digby driving under the uprights, the arrears was reduced to 13-7 at half-time.
Park had wiped out the deficit completely within five minutes of the re-start, as wing Charlie Walker weaved a line through the defences, and scrum-half Ewan Fenley sent full-back Luke Mehson over.
Somewhat fortuitously, Blackheath restored their advantage as Oskar Hirskyj-Douglas hacked forward loose ball for centre partner Raff Hollister to collect and race down the left touchline to score, but 17 unanswered points, as Park kept Blackheath pinned down, put the visitors firmly in control.
Tom Stanton crossed twice in five minutes, the first after fellow-centre Sam Kenaugh made the dent, and fly-half Steff James popped an inside pass.
However, it was Mehson who proved the real menace. The full-back was only foiled in the first period by a Jake Lloyd tackle, and now the Park danger-man decided to end another bout of aerial ping-pong by scything some 60-metres through an embarrassed Club defence, before off-loading to Stanton for a superb try.
Hope reared up for Blackheath as James Cornish’s arrival at loose-head saw Park shoved off their own ball, but the Club’s failure to learn from their errors kept them on the back-foot, and the decisive moment came on 68 minutes as Walker was put across by James in the corner.
Blackheath finally escaped the shackles, and with a one-man advantage due to a deliberate knock-on, excellent sniping around the fringes from Finn Osborne saw the number-eight touch-down, bringing the hosts back into contention.
Nevertheless, in their desperation, and despite some fine mopping up of loose ball from Archie Bourne, two knock-ons, and two further penalties, denied the Club further opportunity.
Blackheath travel to Shaftesbury Park in Bristol next Saturday to take on Dings Crusaders, before returning to the Utilita Well Hall on 11th October for the visit of their newly-promoted Kent rivals Tonbridge Juddian.
Kick off for both matches is at 3.00 pm.
