Congratulations to Raff Hollister for representing Brazil in the recent Rugby World Cup 2027 Final Qualification Tournament.

Raff made his full international debut against Chile and was then selected to play against Belgium, Samoa and Namibia in World Cup qualifying matches held in Dubai in November. Unfortunately, despite some very brave performances in each of the matches, Brazil did not manage to qualify and Samoa took the final qualification place for the World Cup tournament to be held in Australia in 2027.

Raff follows in a long line of illustrious names who have represented Blackheath and then gone forward to play international rugby. Raff qualifies for Brazil as he has a Brazilian mother.

Raff was delighted to play for Brazil and commented: Playing for Brazil was a great experience against top players on the world stage. Although results did not go our way this year, we are building and that can be seen across our recent games with narrow losses between Chile, Belgium and Namibia. Our goal is to put Brazil (and South America) rugby on the map a bit more and I think we did that with some of our top tries against Samoa, Belgium and Namibia.”

We look forward to more international appearances from Raff in the future and who knows, maybe another international shirt to hang in the GK bar!
