Blackheath Rugby is delighted to announce the signing of Jordan Burns, a scrum-half who joins us from Ealing Trailfinders.
James Shanahan, Director of Rugby, says “We had Jordan on loan for one game against Moseley last year, but he was pulled back due to injuries. He really enjoyed his time at the club and was disappointed he didn’t have longer. We’ve been speaking with him about moving from full time rugby to playing alongside having a career, and I’m really happy it’s worked out. Jordan has exceptional pace, is really experienced and has terrorised teams in the the Championship, so I’m sure they’ll all be happy he’s disappeared, especially the backrow forwards and props he picks off! He gives us more quality and depth in the 9 position (along with Jack and George Daly) and the competition will really push them all – were very lucky to have all that experience in National 1.”
Russell Ticehurst, Managing Director, can’t wait to see Jordan back in Club colours “It’s great to welcome Jordan Burns to Blackheath. Former Harlequins, Bedford Blue and Ealing scrum half, who brings a fine rugby pedigree, genuine pace and a tremendous reading of the game to our growing squad. He may be familiar to some of you after his 20 min cameo for Club at Birmingham Moseley last season but we hope to see a lot more of him 2024/25. We hope he brings with him his well known try scoring habit and look forward to watching him at the Utilita very soon. He is another of our signings with great values and he will be a great ambassador for the club on and off the field.”
Speaking about his recent signing, Jordan says “I’m so excited to join such a prestigious club. I’m looking forward to a new challenge wearing a different shirt and helping the club push for a successful season. Can’t wait to link up with coaching staff and players in pre-season and hit the ground running!.”
Welcome to The Club, Jordan! We can’t wait to see you on the pitch again.
