We are looking forward to the first of our pre-seasons this weekend against Newport (the first Anglo-Welsh match played) but, in another historic game, we are also very excited for our opener of the new season against Richmond: ‘The Big Match 2’ — the Club v Richmond fixture is the oldest continuing open rugby fixture in the world, (read more about the history here).
These games are always hotly contested and are usually very tight (we each won our home games last season), and we’re looking to have a bumper crowd for this match – we are hoping to see all of our members and supporters coming along for this game against our oldest friends and rivals, and also look forward to seeing the travelling supporters from Richmond for what we know will be a fabulous way to start the 2024-25 season.
