Blackheath Rugby is excited to announce the signing of Tom Jones, a Winger who joins us from Ealing Trailfinders Academy.
James Shanahan “Tom Jones came highly recommended by Will Davis, having coached him at Brunel Uni and Ealing Academy. Tom has pace to burn, loves scoring tries and is a great addition to the Club — he has the perfect profile of a player coming out of uni and wanting to play good part time rugby. I’m hoping Tom will be the new batch of 100 cap Club players in the years to come.”
Will Davis, Blackheath Rugby’s scrum coach who was impressed with Tom whilst he was coaching at Ealing Academy, agrees with Shanners “We wanted to inject some youth into the squad, who will come in hungry to impress and drive energy.” Will goes on to say “Tom is an intelligent winger who knows his way over the try line. He is very comfortable ball in hand and has featured for the Wild Dogs Invitational 7’s Team. I look forward to seeing what Tom can do at the club.”
Tom is very happy to be joining Blackheath this year, and says “I’m very excited to join a club like Blackheath. Can’t wait to get to work with such a great team and push for great things this year!’
