Blackheath Rugby is delighted to welcome Zaki Chamnaoui to the club.
Having played all his youth rugby at Harlow Rugby Club, Zaki spent five seasons as prop with Ealing Trailfinders Academy before joining Henley Hawks and London Irish Wild Geese, and was most recently at Old Albanion – he has notched up 150 National League appearances.
James Shanahan, Director of Rugby, says “Zaki contacted me a while ago and talked about his ambition to push to a higher level. He was very successful at OAs last year and received Players’ Player and Coaches’ Player of the year. As a young prop, we were keen to welcome him to the squad and develop his skills. He’s made a great impact so far in the Club XV, and is progressing really well. He’s keen to keep pushing to make himself a better player, and has 1st XV ambition which is fantastic. I’m looking forward to working with him over the year.”
Zaki is pleased to join the club, and says “I enjoyed the two fixtures against Blackheath last year and felt it was the right time to come out of my comfort zone and embark on a new challenge in National 1. I’m excited to join such a prestigious club with a great group of people and it’s great to to link up again with old team mates like Alex Noot and Ben Charnock.”
Finally, Russell Ticehurst, Managing Director, welcomes Zaki to Blackheath Rugby and says “I hope Zaki makes a big impression as I know he wants to progress during his time at Club. I look forward to seeing him grow as a player.”
Welcome to the Club, Zaki!
